GIVING SPORT THE RIGHT AMBIENCE - GESTÜT PETERHOF IS IMPRESSIVE BECAUSE EVEN THE SMALLEST DETAILS WERE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT WHEN IT WAS DESIGNED.
Meeting the basic needs of horses in the form of light, air and exercise were the guiding principles when planning Gestüt Peterhof, an estate that gently snuggles into a slope of the Mosel Valley near the town of Perl.
Baroque symmetry combined with a Mediterranean flair. When viewed from above, the nearly 20 hectare large grounds are clearly oriented on a north-south axis.
Some of the severity of the arrangement of the ensemble of buildings, which seems so opulent because of the high ceilings yet quite delicate, was softened by painting the buildings in warm Mediterranean shades of colour.
